Volunteer with your local council and make a difference

15 July 2026
Volunteers play an important role in communities across South Australia, supporting local services, community programs, events and environmental projects through their local councils.

Giving back to your community can be as simple as sharing a conversation, lending a helping hand or offering a few hours of your time each month.

Councils across South Australia rely on volunteers to support local programs, community services and events. These opportunities allow residents to develop new skills, meet like-minded people and make a positive impact close to home.

Here are some of the volunteer roles currently available through local councils.
