Economic development

Councils are playing a big role in growing South Australia’s economy.

They work with businesses, industry and entrepreneurs and support the attraction of new investment and innovation.

By helping fuel the local economy, councils are helping create jobs and boosting the vibrancy of our communities.

SA councils make it happen by:

  • empowering local businesses through grants and funding
  • nurturing entrepreneurs with business advice and mentoring services
  • hosting upskilling events and workshops
  • attracting investment activities
  • creating and promoting tourism attractions
  • working with local tourism operators
  • supporting business member groups.

With the support of local councils, our communities can have thriving businesses and economic opportunities.
