Getting to know your council members

It’s important that you get to know the people who represent your interests at a local government level. There are several ways to learn more about council members.

Your council website

Most council websites provide a summary of their council members. This usually includes a brief overview of each council member’s background and their areas of focus and interests. Some councils also include contact details of their council members.
