Ride, connect and build confidence with Ride Her Way

28 April 2026
Looking for a friendly way to get active and meet new people? A free cycling program in the south is helping women build confidence, learn new skills and enjoy the simple joy of riding.

Backed by local councils including City of Onkaparinga, City of Salisbury and City of Tea Tree Gully, Ride Her Way is creating a welcoming space for women of all ages and abilities to get on a bike and give it a go.

A program designed for women, by women

Ride Her Way is a free initiative that supports women to take up cycling in a safe and supportive environment. Delivered in partnership with Bike SA, the program focuses on building confidence, skills and connection through shared experiences.

Whether you are brand new to cycling or returning after time away, there is a place for you. The program includes beginner workshops, guided community rides and practical bike maintenance sessions, all designed to help you feel comfortable and capable on two wheels.

Weekly rides with a social twist

Community rides are led by trained local volunteers who know the area well. The pace is relaxed, the routes are accessible and many rides finish with a coffee and chat.

The program offers more than physical activity. It helps people settle into a new community, make friends and improve their fitness and wellbeing. Workshops also cover essential bike maintenance, from fixing a flat tyre to basic safety checks. These hands-on sessions build confidence and give riders the skills to stay safe and independent.

Get involved

Ride Her Way is part of a three-year program running through to 2027, funded by the Australian Government and supported locally through the Healthy Active Lifestyles Onkaparinga program.

It is free to join and open to women of all experience levels.
