19 March 2026
Calling all graduates! The City of Onkaparinga has opened applications for its 2026 Graduate Program, offering emerging professionals the opportunity to build a meaningful career in local government.

Designed as a two-year program, the 2026 Graduate Program supports graduates to gain hands on experience while developing skills across a range of council services.

The program forms part of a broader commitment to developing the next generation of local government professionals, while creating pathways for young people to stay and work in South Australia.

More than 400 applications were received for the inaugural program last year, reflecting a growing desire for meaningful careers in local government.

Mayor Moira Were said the program plays an important role in building the future workforce.

“Local government plays a vital role in shaping the places where people live, work and connect,” Mayor Were said.

“Our Graduate Program allows us to attract talented, motivated people who want to build purposeful careers while contributing to meaningful outcomes for our community.”

Graduates will gain exposure to a wide range of areas, collaborate with experienced professionals and contribute to projects that deliver real outcomes for the community.

Applications are open until 30 April 2026, with graduates encouraged to apply early.
