North Western Transport Program extended in Salisbury

7 January 2026
The City of Salisbury has extended its North Western Transport Program trial, continuing a flexible transport option that supports residents in the north-western area who face barriers accessing public transport.

The City of Salisbury has confirmed the extension of its North Western Transport Program trial until 20 June 2027, allowing the service to continue supporting residents who have limited access to public transport in the north-western part of the council area.

The program was introduced following the interruption of the Salisbury Community Bus and provides a more flexible, demand-based transport option using a taxi-card system.

Key features of the program include:

  • available to eligible residents aged 16 years and over
  • designed for people with limited access to private vehicles or public transport
  • taxi travel within a set distance of the council area
  • multiple return trips available each fortnight
  • operating seven days a week, including weekends and public holidays
  • access to wheelchair-accessible vehicles.

The extension of the trial allows council to continue assessing how this model meets community needs while providing residents with ongoing access to essential services, appointments and activities.

By maintaining the program, the City of Salisbury aims to improve mobility, independence and social connection for residents who may otherwise experience transport isolation.

Eligible residents are encouraged to contact council to find out more about the program and how to apply.
