New sponsorship program to support local events in the Barossa

12 June 2026
Community groups and event organisers can now apply for a share of $30,000 through a new Barossa Council sponsorship program designed to support local events, attract visitors and strengthen the region’s year-round economy.

The Barossa is set to welcome more events, more visitors and more opportunities for local communities, thanks to a new Event Sponsorship Program launched by The Barossa Council.

The initiative will provide $30,000 in annual funding to help deliver events that enhance the region’s reputation as a vibrant destination throughout the year.

The program aims to support both established favourites and invite fresh event ideas that bring people together, celebrate local culture and encourage visitors to spend more time in the region.

Mayor Bim Lange said the sponsorship program will help build a diverse calendar of events that showcases everything the Barossa has to offer.

“This program gives our local community the opportunity to bring interesting new ideas to the table, events that might need an extra helping hand to get over the line,” Mayor Lange said.

“This is an opportunity for our much loved traditional and established events, like town Christmas parades for example, to continue to receive support. But we’d also love to see new, innovative, ‘out of the box’ events added to our calendar as well.”

The funding program features a four-tier sponsorship structure, with grants of up to $2,000 available for smaller local events and more than $10,000 available for events of state, national or international significance.

The Barossa Council hopes the program will encourage a broad range of events across sectors including arts, music, sport, heritage, culture, food and wine.

By supporting events throughout the year, particularly during traditionally quieter periods, the initiative aims to strengthen the local visitor economy and create more reasons for people to visit the region.

Applications for the 2026-27 Event Sponsorship Program are now open and close on 30 June 2026. Find out more and submit your application at The Barossa Council.
