25 July 2025
Hundreds of locals gathered to celebrate the official opening of the new Marino Community Hall - an accessible, multi-use facility offering a space for gatherings, creativity and community.

Nestled along the stunning coastline of Marino, the newly built City of Marion community hall is a vibrant destination designed to bring people together.

It includes a café, an activity room ideal for workshops, classes and social gatherings, a meeting room, no site parking, multiple rooms for hire and improved accessibility.

It also includes a gallery space, which proudly showcases the works from the Marion Art Group, a collective that has called Marino Hall home for over 30 years.

The gallery is also a hirable exhibition space, ideal for artists looking to present their work in a modern space with community engagement.

The new council-owned facility replaces the ageing 1940s building and provides flexible spaces for art, dance, yoga, exhibitions and community events.

City of Marion Mayor Kris Hanna said the new hall would serve residents for generations to come.

“I look forward to seeing residents of all ages come together here for social activities, celebrations, and community events for many years to come,” Mayor Hanna said.

The $6.8 million project has been in development since 2019 and was jointly funded by the City of Marion and state and federal governments.
