Help kids build confidence on two wheels
Learning to ride safely on the road takes practice and confidence. The City of Salisbury is helping young people develop both through its free THINK! Road Safety program.
The program will be held at the Road Safety Park in Happy Home Reserve on Tuesday 29 and Wednesday 30 September, with sessions available throughout each day.
Children aged 5 to 15 will take part in road safety education at the park before enjoying lunch and a supervised bike ride.
The sessions are designed to help young riders develop the skills and confidence they need to ride safely on the road.
Children are encouraged to bring their own bike. Bikes will also be provided for those who do not have one.
Three sessions will run each day:
- 9.30 am to 11:00 am
- 11:15 am to 12:45 pm
- 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm
The program is free, but bookings are required.
The Road Safety Park is located at Happy Home Reserve between Waterloo Corner Road and Salisbury Highway, Salisbury North.
The program is part of the City of Salisbury's Salisbury Fit Club, which provides opportunities for the community to get active and learn new skills.
With practical education followed by time on the bike, the program gives children an opportunity to put their road safety knowledge into practice in a supervised environment.
Registrations are available through the City of Salisbury.
