A Day in the Gully strikes a chord with the community
The February event brought national acts including Disco Lines, Ball Park Music and Chet Faker to Modbury, alongside local favourites Teenage Joans, creating a strong mix of talent that resonated with audiences.
Mayor Marijka Ryan said the event has already secured its place in Council’s future plans.
“The event was outstanding. We’ve already locked it into Council’s events calendar for next financial year,” she said.
Council CEO Ryan McMahon said local support played a key role in the festival’s success.
“Local support made such a difference. We wanted residents to feel included. Their response showed there’s a real appetite for events like this in our community,” he said.
Tea Tree Gully Council partnered with experienced producer SRO Events to deliver the festival, supporting strong attendance and broad promotion. The event also created opportunities for 28 local businesses and brought new energy to the city.
