Meet Bluey, Mem Fox at free Early Years expo
Held in collaboration with the State Government’s Words Grow Minds initiative, the event highlights the importance of early childhood development and ways parents and caregivers can help babies and young children learn to thrive.
With special guests including Bluey, Mem Fox and Nylon Zoo, the event will be held on Tuesday 17 September from 10 am to 2 pm at the Salisbury Community Hub, 34 Church Street Salisbury.
Eventgoers can enjoy a variety of free interactive activities, including storytelling sessions, arts and crafts, and sensory play zones, all aimed at promoting early learning and literacy.
Parents and caregivers will also be able to connect with top industry experts and early years’ service providers to help families access the support and resources they need to give their children the best early years’ learning experience.

Mayor Gillian Aldridge OAM expressed her enthusiasm for the event.
“The City of Salisbury values early childhood learning and ensuring a connected community where families feel supported in providing opportunities for their children,” Mayor Aldridge said.
Award winning children’s book author, Mem Fox, echoed the Words Grow Minds campaign focus that talking, reading and singing with young children boosts their brain development.
“I love reading to children for the sheer pleasure of watching their joyful, hysterical reactions,” she said.
“But I also know that every story develops their brain power and their ability to learn to speak, and every book helps them to learn to read more easily when they arrive at school.”
The State Government’s Words Grow Minds initiative provides free resources to South Australian parents and caregivers about how to best support their child’s development in the first 1000 days.
So, mark your calendars and prepare for a day filled with fun, laughter, learning and discovery.
