Inaugural Wordfest Onkaparinga writing festival kicks off

15 March 2024
Passionate about poetry? Fanatical about fiction? Want to be a writer?
Two people talking at a Wordfest event

Join Wordfest Onkaparinga – a 3-month-long festival, celebrating writing and reading with workshops, author talks, competitions and more.

With free events aimed at writers and readers of all ages who love poetry, fiction, romance, comics or even zines, Wordfest is your chance to explore the world of words.

Anyone can get involved with writing workshops and self-publishing guidance, live streams and a writers walk. Wordfest gives book lovers and wordsmiths the rare opportunity to be inspired by industry professionals, meet fellow aspiring writers and explore the possibilities of their craft.

An initiative of Onkaparinga Libraries, Wordfest is the first festival in a series of writing events that will continue throughout 2024.

With events running until 28 April, there is still plenty of time to get involved with Wordfest.

We've suggested some highlights, but you check out the full Wordfest program from the City of Onkaparinga.
