Dark Tides Festival 2026 brings winter magic to Port Adelaide

18 June 2026
Lanterns, live music, local food and winter celebrations will light up Port Adelaide when the Dark Tides Festival returns this June, transforming the historic waterfront into a vibrant Winter Solstice experience.

As winter settles across South Australia, The Dark Tides Festival returns on 19 and 20 June 2026. The event invites residents and visitors to celebrate the Winter Solstice with two nights of live entertainment, glowing lanterns, local flavours and community spirit.

Held across various locations throughout Port Adelaide, the festival embraces the longest night of the year and celebrates the return of longer days through light, creativity and connection.

Visitors can explore the historic streets by lantern light, discovering live music performances, flame-cooked food and special festival offerings from participating hospitality venues.

A highlight of the event is the Lantern Walk, featuring handcrafted lanterns created by Tutti Arts. The illuminated trail will guide festivalgoers through Port Adelaide's iconic streets and waterfront precinct, creating a memorable experience for people of all ages.

Nine venues will take part across the two-night festival, each with unique offerings encouraging people to experience Port Adelaide in a new way during the colder weather.

The festival brings together local businesses, artists, performers and the wider community, creating a vibrant atmosphere that celebrates the character and creativity of the Port.

Whether you're a long-time local or visiting for the first time, Dark Tides Festival is an opportunity to experience Port Adelaide at its most vibrant. Gather your family and friends, grab a lantern and join the community for a celebration of light, culture and connection on the longest night of the year.
