Council tourism experiences recognised in SA Tourism Awards

2 November 2026
Festivals, visitor centres and holiday parks are among the council-supported tourism experiences recognised in the 2026 South Australian Tourism Awards, highlighting the sector’s contribution to local communities and economies.

Local councils are in the spotlight at the 2026 South Australian Tourism Awards, with council-run and supported attractions, festivals and visitor services named among this year’s finalists.

The finalists showcase the range of experiences that help attract visitors across South Australia, including Adelaide Festival (City of Adelaide), Festival of Rice (City of Unley), Barossa Food & Wine Village (The Barossa Council), Whyalla Visitor Centre (Whyalla City Council), Fleurieu Coast Visitor Centre (Yankalilla District Council), Streaky Sounds Music Festival (District Council of Streaky Bay), Tunarama Festival (City of Port Lincoln), Marion Bay Caravan Park (Yorke Peninsula Council), and more.

These experiences help visitors discover local places, connect with communities and support businesses across the state. Councils also play an important role in tourism through visitor information, events, accommodation and the public spaces that make destinations appealing.

LGA is proud to sponsor the awards, recognising local government’s contribution to the state’s tourism industry.

Congratulations to the council teams, volunteers and delivery partners whose work helps create memorable visitor experiences and supports local economies.

The winners will be announced at the South Australian Tourism Awards Gala Dinner on Friday 6 November.
