AFL Gather Round returns to the Barossa in 2027
The Barossa has scored a hat-trick, with AFL Gather Round returning to Barossa Park in Lyndoch for a third consecutive year.
The 2027 fixture will see two matches played in the region as South Australia prepares to welcome all 18 AFL clubs for the popular four-day football festival.
The Gold Coast Suns will take on GWS Giants at Barossa Park on Saturday 10 April, before Geelong meets St Kilda on Sunday 11 April.
The matches will give footy fans another reason to visit the Barossa, with the region’s cellar doors, restaurants, local produce and accommodation offering plenty to enjoy around game day.
Gather Round has helped put the region in front of a national audience since Barossa Park hosted its first AFL premiership matches in 2025. The event also creates opportunities for local businesses to welcome visitors, attract new customers and share what makes the region special.
The 2027 festival will run from Thursday 8 April to Sunday 11 April, with nine matches scheduled across Barossa Park, Adelaide Oval and Norwood Oval. The event will coincide with school holidays, making it an opportunity for families and interstate visitors to plan a South Australian getaway.
With the fixture now confirmed, the Barossa can prepare to welcome supporters keen to enjoy the football and experience the region’s hospitality.
