Happy Home Reserve upgrades underway
The City of Salisbury is transforming Happy Home Reserve into a lively recreation hub, designed to complement the nearby Salisbury Aquatic Centre and provide more opportunities for families to get active.
The re-development will introduce a new Road Safety Park, which will give children a safe place to learn road rules and build confidence while riding bikes or scooters.
Featuring an asphalt circuit, pedestrian and train crossings, traffic lights, signage and line markings, the park will simulate real-world conditions in a fun and interactive way.
Other upgrades include a halfcourt for basketball and futsal, new pathways, shaded areas, BBQs, seating, a drinking fountain and landscaped gardens.
Improved fencing, public lighting and a new entrance on Waterloo Corner Road will enhance safety and accessibility for all visitors.
To support growing demand, a new car park with 130 additional spaces is being built to provide overflow parking for both the reserve and the aquatic centre during peak times.

Mayor Gillian Aldridge OAM said Happy Home Reserve is already a favourite in the community and the upgrades will make it more accessible for families to enjoy.
“Happy Home Reserve is already a much-loved community space, and these upgrades will make it even more vibrant, inclusive and safe for families,’ Mayor Gillian said.
Works are expected to be completed early in the new year.
The project has been jointly funded by the City of Salisbury and the Australian Government’s Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Program.
