Whether you’re looking for an epic waterslide session with the kids, a spot to safely paddle with your toddler, or a somewhere to get some laps in — you’re bound to find an outdoor pool or water park within easy reach.

Here’s what you need to know about some of the most popular outdoor pools and water parks in SA…

Marion Outdoor Pool

The Marion Outdoor Pool is a must-visit venue in Summer! This awesome water park is equipped with three pools of varying depth, four epic slides, a large tipping bucket, water cannons, and a splash pad — as well as some beautifully curated grassed areas when you need a break from the action. And did we mention the onsite kiosk? Choose from hot chips, toasties, ice cream and so much more. Yep, there's barista-made coffee as well.

Entry fee: From $3.80 to $8.00, with FREE access to children under one year.

Monday to Friday: 6 am to 8 pm

Saturday: 7 am to 6 pm

Sunday: 8 am to 6 pm

Edithburgh Tidal Pool

Fancy an all-natural swimming pool? Completely free to the public and open seven days a week, the Edithburgh Tidal Pool, nestled in the cliffs along the Southern Yorke Peninsula coastline, is the perfect place to swim and wade in the ocean safely. There are full bathroom facilities, free-to-use barbecues, plenty of shade and a large lawn area to enjoy. At roughly a metre in depth, it's the perfect spot for little ones to safely dip their toes in the ocean. Those looking for a little more adventure can swim beyond the tidal pool out to the pontoon. Don’t forget your snorkel and goggles!

Tusmore Park

Open seven days a week in the summer months, Tusmore Park offers a fully-fenced wading pool for the kids, an additional lagoon pool, fun water features, and an extensive lawn area dotted with beautiful gum trees — perfect for picnics with the family and loved by generations of locals and visitors alike!

Murray Bridge Swimming Centre

This much-loved community facility is equipped with a 50-metre heated pool, a half-shaded medium-sized learners pool, a fully shaded paddling pool for toddlers, and five incredible water slides! Plus, the Water Play Park is home to a 48-metre SupaSlide for teens and adults. With lush green lawns, shaded areas for picnics, and free-to-use barbecue facilities — the Murray Bridge Swimming Centre is the perfect place to cool off and have fun.

Entry fee: $5.50 (Child between 3-12), $7.50 (Adult), with FREE access to children under 3 years.

Monday to Friday (during school term): 3 pm to 6 pm

Monday to Friday (during school holidays): 12 pm to 5 pm

Weekends: 12 pm to 5 pm

Waterworld Aquatic Centre

Waterworld Aquatic Centre is fun for the whole family, especially the thrill-seekers! With an enclosed curly slide, two speed slides, a fun splash pad for kids, and a learner pool for paddling — this outdoor park is suitable for all swimming abilities. It's also equipped with shady areas, a cafĂ©, free barbeque facilities, picnic tables, showers, and lockers.

Entry fee: $8.00 (Child between 8-15), $8.00 to $10.00 (Adult), with FREE access to children under 3 years.
