Footy festivities abound across SA at 2025 AFL Gather Round

Running from Thursday 10 April through to Sunday 13 April, this celebration of footy also showcases the best of SA’s regions.

Barossa Park to host premiership matches at new facilities

For the first time, the Barossa Valley joins in on the Gather Round action at the brand-new Barossa Park in Lyndoch. Built in partnership with SA Government and The Barossa Council, the $40 million sports hub includes a 350-seat function room, new carparking and over 42,000 square metres of sports playing surfaces.

Barossa Park is set to host North Melbourne vs. Gold Coast Suns on Saturday afternoon and Richmond vs. Fremantle on Sunday, with both matches showcasing the best of the region's food and wine.

The Barossa Council Mayor Bim Lange said, “This is a once-in-a-generation investment for our community and we’re so thrilled to be partnering with the State Government to deliver this landmark tourism and events destination.”

Food and Wine festival on Norwood’s Parade

Adding to the footy fun, The City of Norwood, Payneham and St Peters are again bringing the best of SA winemakers, breweries and local eateries at the iconic Norwood Food and Wine Festival on Sunday. Norwood Oval is geared to host another two matches where the Western Bulldogs will take on Brisbane Lions on Saturday and St Kilda vs. GWS Giants on Sunday.

Adelaide Oval’s packed fixture

Adelaide Oval will again host five blockbuster matches, including a Thursday night opener between Adelaide Crows and Geelong Cats, and a Sunday evening closer between Port Adelaide and Hawthorn. Between matches, fans can soak up the festival atmosphere with plenty of Gather Round activities around the city, from pop-up food and drink stalls to footy-themed interactive experiences.

Tickets for the 2025 Gather Round go on sale to AFL and club members on Tuesday 10 December, with general public sales opening on Wednesday 11 December. Make sure to secure your spot for this unforgettable four-day footy celebration across South Australia.
