As Fringe fever takes off around the state this month, there are thousands of ways to get involved.

Around the suburbs and across the regions, councils and local artists will provide entertainment with something for everyone.

Here are our top tips for free events in your local area!

Port Augusta Fringe Hub | Port Augusta

When: Saturday 24 February, 6 pm to 10 pm

Where: Yarta Purtli Art Gallery at The Barracks

Entry fee: FREE

Where do you find a roaming serpent dancer, aerial acrobatics, and spectacular circus tricks all in the one place? At the Port Augusta Fringe Hub! And for a real treat, enjoy the sounds of South Australian country singer and songwriter, Scott Rathman.

Salisbury Fringe Carnival | Salisbury

When: Friday 23 February, 6 pm to 9:30 pm

When: Saturday 24th February, 12 pm to 9:30 pm

Where: Carisbrooke Park

Entry fee: FREE

Enjoy two days of Fringe family festivities as Salisbury puts on a show. Amusement rides, kids’ entertainment and live music will keep toes tapping and smiles on everyone’s faces.

Loxton Mardi Gras Family Festival | Loxton

When: Saturday 24 February , 10 am to 3 pm

Where: Loxton Oval #2

The streets of Loxton will be buzzing with an array of marching bands, physical entertainment, rock'n'roll music, a parade of vintage and classic cars, as well as 50 spectacularly themed floats. Don’t miss Loxton’s party of the year!

Loxton Mardi Gras Family Festival

Gather, Dance and Explore at Whitmore | Adelaide

When: Saturday 2 March, 2 pm

Where: Whitmore Square

Entry fee: FREE

Belly dancing, hip hop, DJ’s and nature play – bring the kids for an unforgettable afternoon of creativity and joy. The popular Nylon Zoo will set imaginations wild as the music plays and plays.

Street Art Fest! | Mount Barker

When: Saturday 9 March, 1 pm

Where: Pop Up Park Space at Mount Barker 'Pop up Park'

Entry fee: FREE

Mt Barker will bring the flavour of Fringe with street theatre, roving characters, gourmet food trucks, and a locally stocked boutique bar. Soak up the atmosphere of Summer in the beautiful Adelaide Hills.

Street Art Fest!

A Night of Comedy and Curiosity | Whyalla

When: Friday 15 March, 6 pm

Where: Innovation and Collaboration Centre, Building L/111 at UniSA Whyalla Campus

Entry fee: FREE

Comedian Jason Chong will host an evening of discovery and wonder as a panel of scientists explore how we can share our beautiful planet, together.

A Night of Comedy and Curiosity

Fringe in the Flinders | Quorn

When: Saturday 16 March, 5 pm

Where: Quorn Town Square

Entry fee: FREE

Quorn will host a magical evening of circus and wonder under the Flinders stars. With a boutique circus tent, outdoor stages with live music, comedy, circus, and acrobatic performances – including an aerial rig and roving entertainment – this is an event not to be missed!
