South Australia is home to some of the best skate parks, perfect for skateboarders, BMX riders and scooter enthusiasts looking to grind, shred and catch some serious air.

From street-style plazas to pro-level bowls, these local skate parks are designed for riders of all levels. Whether you’re perfecting your kickflips or looking for a place to pull off a 360, your local skatepark promise a cool ride.

City Skate

Right in the heart of the Adelaide Park Lands, City Skate is a one-of-a-kind skate facility designed for skaters of all skill levels, from beginners to seasoned pros. Unlike any other skate park in Australia, City Skate features unique obstacles, including the impressive Advanced Bowl, and a series of purpose-built obstacles the give skaters new challenges. Beginners will appreciate the Mini Bowl, perfect for learning the basics like dropping in, before moving to the more advanced sections.

Victor Harbor Skate Park

This seaside skate park is located on the beautiful foreshore of Victor Harbor and is a popular hangout for skateboarders, scooter and BMX enthusiasts. Located next door to the playground, this modern skate park has a variety of features, including ramps, rails and bowls to challenge skaters at all levels.

Transitions are relatively large, which tend to suit more advanced skaters who like to go big.

Paradise Recreation Plaza

Located on Darley Road in Paradise, this skate park received a $3.9 million upgrade in 2023, transforming it into a much-loved local skate park. So much so, it was awarded 2024 Park of the Year at the Parks and Leisure Australia National Awards of Excellence.

With zones designed for all levels, the park features a contemporary bowl with a mini ramp, three hips, two pockets and a waterfall. The Flow zone links the bowl to the surrounding park, allowing skaters to try out their transfers and transitions. Open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, the park is also lit after hours until 11:00pm for those who enjoy a night skate.

Minkarra Park

Based in a bush setting in Flagstaff Hill, this large skate park offers a big peanut shaped bowl, along with square and round rails. A great street section includes a eurogap, 8 stair, sub box and flat banks to keep skaters practising a range of skills, and smooth open spaces for cruising. Lighting from sundown until midnight means late night skate sessions are possible, year-round.

West Beach Parks Skate and BMX

The ultimate spot for skating, West Beach Parks Skate and BMX has something for every skill level, including skaters, BMX riders and in-line skaters. Warm up in the Beginners Bowl, practise tricks on the street circuit, or take on the more challenging vertical ramp.

Set just off Africaine Road, this free facility is open day and night. With nearby sheltered BBQ areas, it’s a great place to skate or simply spectate.

Modbury Skate Plaza

Modbury Skate Plaza in Ridgehaven is a street-style skater’s dream, packed with features for all skill levels. Its high note is the enclosed bowl with a spin, giving plenty of opportunities for smooth transitions and bigger tricks. Surrounding the bowl are a challenging range of ledges, rails and bowls, designed for both street skating and park-style shredding. The skate plaza can be lit for those seeking an after-dark skate.

Burra Skate Park

Designed with input from over 100 local youth, the Regional Council of Goyder has created a top skate park to catch some serious air in SA’s mid-north. Great for skating, BMX riding and scooters, the spacious park has cool features including ledges, curb, and clever transitions into the old park. With a handy viewing platform, seating and picnic areas, this is a top spot for locals and visitors alike.

Clonlea Park Skate and BMX Park

Proudly called one of the best skateboard and BMX tracks in northern Adelaide, the Clonlea Park Skate and BMX Park caters to all skill levels and ages, from skateboarding to scooting to in-line skating. A compact street section offers great rails and ledges, while banks and small hips keep the park versatile.

Younger children can build their skills on the purpose-designed scooter course which features fun sections of different coloured concrete. Parents will appreciate the viewing platform where they can sit back while keeping an eye on the kids.

Murray Bridge Skate Park

This vibrant hub is set in the scenic Sturt Reserve right by the Murray River and features a well-designed combination of pro-level street and transition elements, including ramps, rails, and a beautifully smooth open bowl. Catering to beginners and seasoned riders alike, the open layout means skaters can get creative. The skate park has become a unique feature of the city, with Murray Bridge Council’s Youth Development team hosting regular skateboarding competitions and events throughout the year.

Aldinga Skatepark – Coming Soon

Work is underway on the Aldinga Skatepark which kicked off development in September 2024. The new park will feature a smooth skate bowl and street skating area, perfect for events and competitions and is set to be completed in March 2025.
