The upgraded design will enhance the family-friendly spot with new attractions, including an upgraded activity hub with an outdoor gym, basketball half court and a skate zone, along with an all-abilities play space.

A brand-new water play area, complete with junior and adventure zones, will ensure that children of all ages and abilities can play together. Visitors will also love the revamped kiosk and café located alongside a large shading structure for comfort in both sunshine and rain.

Community feedback was at the heart of this project, with the City of Port Adelaide Enfield seeking feedback at every stage of development. In response to community feedback, the final plan now includes additional covered seating, expanded play areas and more trees for natural shade.

The cherished Central Plaza will continue to honour Semaphore’s heritage, preserving the iconic War Memorial ‘Semaphore Angel’ Monument, while the beloved carousel will stay in its original location.

The redevelopment thoughtfully integrates Kaurna living cultural heritage, with circular motifs symbolising connection and continuity woven into the landscape through sculptures, art instillations and planting design.
