New Barossa Creative Industries Centre underway
Construction has begun on the Barossa Creative Industries Centre, a transformative project that will expand the Barossa Regional Gallery and Tanunda Soldiers’ Memorial Hall into a vibrant hub for arts, culture and creative industries.
The new development marks a major milestone for the region, bringing new performance, exhibition, workshop and production spaces that will support creative expression, heritage celebration and community events.
This $17.5 million project will create a cultural destination in the heart of Tanunda that showcases Barossa’s shared First Nations and European histories through storytelling and arts experiences.
Deputy Mayor Jane Evans said the centre will be a place where people connect and where creative innovation thrives while honouring the region’s heritage.
“I can't wait to see this destination come alive with music, creativity and inspiration while offering our arts community spaces to pursue and grow their passion. Best of all we, our community and visitors, will enjoy it too” she said.
With its focus on creativity, heritage and community wellbeing, the centre is set to become a cornerstone of the Barossa’s cultural landscape when it opens in late 2026.
