Community to celebrate highly-anticipated St Morris Reserve upgrade
The much-anticipated upgrade of St Morris Reserve is now complete and will be ready to welcome the community to a refreshed outdoor space that blends quality recreation with resilient stormwater infrastructure.
The reserve has been redeveloped as part of Stage 4 of the Council’s Trinity Valley Stormwater Drainage Upgrade Project, enhancing both environmental protection and community amenity for locals and visitors alike.
The upgraded reserve now features brand new playground equipment shaded by sail structures, refreshed park furniture, picnic shelters and upgraded public toilets.
Improved paths and hard surfaces make the space easier to access, while a renewed basketball court adds to the range of recreation options available for all ages.
The City of Norwood, Payneham & St Peters has also added lawns, shrubs and more than 140 newly planted trees, creating a greener environment that supports shade, cooling and long-term sustainability.
Investment from the Federal Government supported the multi-stage Trinity Valley Stormwater Drainage Upgrade project through a $9.9 million contribution under the Preparing Australian Communities Program, matched dollar for dollar by the council, representing a near $20 million commitment.
The improvements at St Morris Reserve reflected the responses from an extensive community consultation to ensure that it meets local needs now and into the future.
