About
Kingston District Council is a local government area in the Limestone Coast, South Australia. Established in 1873, Kingston SE is the largest town of the district.
Located on the land of the Meintangk and Moandik people, the Kingston District Council covers an area of 3,337 km2 and serves a population of 2,350.
The district is mostly reliant on agriculture, particularly cereal crops, sheep and cattle. Cape Jaffa also hosts a lobster fishing fleet, with other commercial fishing also providing part of the area's economy.
Nestled on the picturesque waters of Lacepede Bay and home to the famous ‘Larry the Lobster’, Kingston is an ideal place for holidaymakers and families to relax and unwind. There is much to like about Kingston, the fishing, local shops and cafes, seafood, wine, local produce, safe beaches, fantastic local events and great parks.
The community is supported by a diverse range of skilled and professional services but most of all this is the entirety of a great lifestyle that can be enjoyed and experienced every day.
