The District Council of Karoonda East Murray is a local government area in the Murray Mallee area of South Australia.
This council area is 1.5 hours away from Adelaide and is located on the lands of several First Nation peoples, including the Ngarrindjeri, Peramangk, Ngadjuri, and Wilyakali groups. It covers an area of 4,415 km2 and serves a population of just over 1,000 people.
Besides its quiet, friendly atmosphere, Karoonda's accessibility is attracting more and more people to settle there. With its serene location and proximity to popular regions including the Riverland and Murraylands, Karoonda makes the ideal destination for a stopover or short stay.
