Main tasks
- Make sure buildings meet building regulations, accessibility requirements, and health and safety standards
- Consider how bushfire, flooding, energy efficiency, threatened species, soil quality, heritage and more might impact a construction project
- Assess structural damage and recommend repairs
- Understand codes and regulations, and explain them to others

Career development
You could progress from Cadet Building Surveyor to Building Surveyor, into higher roles such as Development Officer, Building Assessment Officer, and Team Leader Development Assessment.

- Bachelor of Construction Management with Honours (Building Surveying Specialisation)
